At Zion, “Connect, Grow, Serve” captures a path that reflects a faith journey.  We seek to be a group of followers of Jesus who connect deeply with Jesus and one another; grow mature as disciples through the study of God's Word;  and serve Him personally, locally, and globally.

Grow

Grow is a word that suggests change and development.  Some people think the word "disciple" only refers to the original 12 men picked by Jesus but it comes form a Greek word translated first into Latin as disciplus.  It means "a learner."  The strongest catalyst for spiritual growth (discipleship) is to spend time reading and reflecting on Scripture (the Bible).

The Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:2 that disciples are not to be "conformed any longer to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern the will of God- what is good and acceptable and perfect."  So, it's not just about accumulating a bunch of information or behaving better... discipleship is transformation, a shift towards being more like Jesus everyday.  The Holy Spirit empowers this.  In fact Martin Luther called on Christians to be "little Christs."

Worship  (Sunday Mornings at 8:00 and 10:45 AM,  Wednesday at 6:30 PM)
Hear the Word of God read as part of worship, quoted in the liturgy (order of service) and taught in the sermon.  Even the songs we sing have Biblical content.  Children are invited to worship with their parents.  A nursery is available for litttle ones (or their parents) who need one.

Adult Bible Class, Sunday School -  9:30-10:30 AM.  New classes start every 8 weeks and include Bible classes, marriage classes, parenting classes, and introductory (Discovery) classes.

L.I.F.E. Groups  (Living in Faith Everyday
Often just referred to as "small groups," these are gatherings of 6 to 20 people who meet in homes, offices and even on the Zion Campus.  They meet at different days and times during the week for Bible study to connect with one another (fellowship).

Note"Places for Connecting" and "Places for Serving" are also places for Growing.
