At Zion, “Connect, Grow, Serve” captures a path that reflects a faith journey. We seek to be a group of followers of Jesus who connect deeply with Jesus and one another; grow mature as disciples through the study of God's Word; and serve Him personally, locally, and globally.
Serve
There are over 200 places to "serve" at Zion. Faith is not " a spectator sport." It calls us to action. While the Bible makes it clear that we are not saved "by service," it also says we are saved "for service" (Ephesians 2:8-10). God has called us to be "in the game" - to be participants in His plans. It's our responsibility and privilege to find out how we are shaped by God for service. Rick Warren, author of the Purpose Driven Life, says it this way: "Every believer has a ministry in the church and a mission to the world."
Family Servant Event - Vacation with a Purpose. Families and extended families work and play together improving camp facilities at Camp Pioneer in Angola, New York for use by the handicapped and disabled throughout the year. June 27-July 3, 2010. Contact Pastor Byers at 618-233-2299.
