Communion (1st and 3rd Sundays at 8:00 Am, 2nd and 4th 10:45, 5th Sundays both.)
Zion Lutheran Church practices “close” communion. The Apostle Paul wrote “A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup” (1 Corinthians 11:28)
In order to examine yourself before attending the Lord’s Supper, ask yourself the following questions:
- Do I believe in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
- Do I believe that I am a sinner, and am sorry for my sins?
- Do I believe that Jesus Christ, by his death, offers me forgiveness for all my sins?
- Do I believe that I receive the body and blood of Christ in, with and under the bread and wine (not merely symbolically present)
Children are Welcome in Worship!
Our church has taken a stand in favor of children in worship. We want them with us and with their parents, learning how to worship little by little along the way. Every Sunday they see adults making worship a priority and that witness alone speaks volumes. If a little one (or their parent) needs a short break the lobby is available for walking and comforting. We also have a well equipped nursery with loving volunteers for children through age 2 and an area for nursing mothers should they desire privacy. Wiggle Tamer bags are available every Sunday by the nursery entrance for children to borrow during worship.
