Pastor Chris Spelbring

Senior Pastor
Pastor Chris came to Zion in 2015 to serve as Associate Pastor after serving First Lutheran Church in Venice, California, where he was ordained in 2011. He was installed as Zion's Senior Pastor in November 2022. Pastor Chris and his wife, Faith, have four children. Pastor Chris enjoys being a dad and fitting in some exercise whenever he can. He is a gifted preacher and teacher.

KerriAnn Schmid

Director of Christian Education – Family Ministry
KerriAnn came to Zion right out of college to lead our Youth Ministry in 2001. She leads Zion's Family Ministry and continues to expand the Bible study and serving opportunities at Zion. Her passion is to help parents and grandparents bring the love of Jesus into their homes and provide education and events to help strengthen our families and community. KerriAnn’s husband, JP, is a teacher at Zion Lutheran School. They have two young children.

Caleb Beasley

Director of Christian Education – Youth Ministry

Caleb joined Zion's staff in 2025 to lead the Youth Ministry program. He desires each youth to know they are loved by God, called to learn His Word, and are equipped to share the Gospel with those around them. In his free time, you can find Caleb watching sports, cooking, at the gym, or enjoying the outdoors.

Ryan Meyer

Minister of Music
After 21 years at his previous congregation, Ryan joined Zion in 2025 as Zion’s Minister of Music. He is responsible for all things music at Zion Lutheran Church – organist, praise band, choir, handbells, orchestra, etc. Ryan and his wife, Anne, have four children. Ryan enjoys listening to, writing, and playing music; gardening; playing with their dog, Tulip; and

spending time with his family. His favorite Bible passage is Psalm 34.

Ananda Baron

Principal of Zion Lutheran School
Ananda has been the principal of Zion Lutheran School since 2015. Prior to that, she served as our 7th grade homeroom teacher and upper grade choral music director. Ananda and her husband, Chris, often play and sing in our praise band and have three sons. She recently completed her Master of Arts degree in School Administration.

Tim Reeb

Director of Finance and Administration
Tim serves as the finance administrator, ensuring all of Zion’s business matters are handled efficiently and properly reported. Tim enjoys helping his son coach a college soccer team, imparting his wisdom to the young men. He also is supportive of his oldest daughter’s dance school. He and his wife, Bev, have five grandchildren. The Holly Reeb Scholarship Fund is in memory of their youngest daughter.

Carol Kalkwarf

Church Office Administrator
Carol joined the Zion team in 2020 after 30 years in the marketing research business. Her years of project management experience are very helpful in her Zion role. Carol and her husband, Nate, have two adult children. Carol enjoys baking, cooking, shopping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Jenn Runyon

Communications Specialist
Jenn joined Zion's team in 2022. Jenn's degree in graphic design and digital media is a great addition to Zion's growing communications needs. Jenn and her husband, Brandon, have two sons. Jenn enjoys photography, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Melanie Meyer

Business Office Associate
Melanie handles human resources at Zion and also works with the financial side dealing with accounts payable and receivable. Melanie and her husband, Jake, have two children. In her spare time, Melanie likes to hike, spend time with family and friends, and knit.

Becky Schnitzius

Seniors Ministry Associate
Becky is a life-time member of Zion and joined Zion’s staff in 2021. Becky is a registered nurse with many years of experience working as a Home Care RN. Her experience helping patients with their physical, social, and emotional needs is a great asset in her role working with the older members of Zion. Becky and her husband, Dan, have two grown sons and two grandchildren.

Lindsey Greenfield

Children's Ministry Associate
Lindsey is a life-time member of Zion and attended Zion Lutheran School. Lindsey joined Zion’s staff in 2022. She is working with Zion's children from infancy to 6th grade. While these children are young, Lindsey believes that God can still use them in big ways. Lindsey also works as a flight RN full time. She and her husband, Beaux, have two children. They enjoy doing puzzles and watching movies together.
